Personal information
I did my BSc- and MSc-studies at Leyden State University, The Netherlands (Biology and Physics). My specialisations are in theoretical biology and theoretical physics (various topics: enzyme kinetics, laser physics, predator-prey interactions, modelling electro-mechanical behaviour of cardiac tissue).
In 1991-1992, I worked on a research project funded by a grant from the Dutch Heart's Foundation on the modelling of cardiac tissue at Leyden State University. In the period 1992-1996, I did research on the modelling of processes underlying the emission of nitrous oxide from grassland soils at the Wageningen University. Since 1997 I have been involved in various activities concerning the teaching and innovation of courses and study programs at the Wageningen University.
