From 1992, I'm working at the Wageningen University on the effects of nutrients (especially nitrogen) at different agricultural levels. It concerns research of nitrogen economy of plants and crops, and nutrient cycling at the level of cropping systems. Objectives include to contribute to better management of abiotic resources and the prevention of nutrient losses from agricultural systems.
Teaching activities involve parts of the practical of the 'International potato course on: Seed potato technology, certification and supply systems'. Important subjects in the course are about the effects of abiotic factors (daylength and temperature) on potato growth; physiological age, storage conditions and breaking dormancy of seed potatoes; fungal-, virus-, and deficiency diseases; rapid multiplication techniques.
